Agus says video edited, official points to 'Mr H' in J-Kom as mastermind
Former Community Communications Department (J-Kom) director-general Mohammad Agus Yusoff and an official of the agency have come forward to explain a viral clip of them allegedly engaging in a flirtatious conversation via video call.
Agus denied allegations of his involvement in the lewd conversation video, which featured an individual resembling him and the J-Kom official Abdul Wahab Abdul Kadir Jailani.
Former Community Communications Department (J-Kom) director-general Mohammad Agus Yusoff and an official with the agency have come forward to explain a viral clip of them allegedly engaging in a flirtatious conversation via video call.
Agus denied allegations of his involvement in the lewd conversation video, which featured an individual resembling him and the J-Kom official Abdul Wahab Abdul Kadir Jailani.
“I want to say that the video is one that is doctored and edited. I have been framed,” he said at a press conference at Hotel Tenera in Bandar Baru Bangi, tonight.
“The video was edited. I can’t even bring myself to watch it,” he added.
Also present at the press conference was a lawyer representing them.
Agus said he filed a police report earlier this evening in Kajang and would send a letter of demand to those who spread the video.
“We have learnt (from the past) how one can be brought down with sexual accusations and it has happened to me,” he asserted.
However, he admitted that the two individuals in the viral video were himself and Wahab.
“He is the one with me in the video, (this person) next to me – Wahab,” Agus said.

‘Mr H behind plot’
Meanwhile, Wahab has cried conspiracy, claiming that it was created by someone from J-Kom nicknamed “Mr H”.
"I am at this press conference with the aim of providing an explanation regarding the dissemination of a defamatory video recording which is said to be Agus' lewd video conversation with me.
"I stress that the video conversation has been doctored and edited by irresponsible quarters, who are trying to bring down Agus’ reputation.
"The plot to topple Agus was masterminded by a high-ranking individual within J-Kom, whom I name as ‘Mr H’," he said.

According to Wahab, he had recorded the video conversation with Agus but the content of the conversation was not as per the viral clip.
“The video that I recorded was a video without audio,” he said.
Wahab insisted that he was not pressured by any quarters to be at the press conference. Instead, he said it was his own free will after realising that he was being used by “Mr H”.
Agus said he also knew the individual Wahab named but refused to divulge further information, opting instead to leave it to the authorities for further action.
“I know the names listed by Wahab, but I don’t think it’s appropriate for us to reveal the names of those involved," he added.

Agus was appointed J-Kom director-general on Feb 2. The department was rebranded from the BN-era Special Affairs Department (Jasa), which was often associated with government propaganda.
Agus tendered his resignation yesterday after receiving a new job offer, clarifying that it was not due to any form of pressure.
Earlier today, Communications and Digital Minister Fahmi Fadzil said he was informed of Agus’ resignation and the position will be filled as soon as possible.
